Kite Beach Cabarete Artist Samantha Chilvers left her Kite Beach Shack yesterday to compete in the

Dakhla Kiteboarding World Cup 2015

 

LOCATION : Dakhla Attitude Hotel, Dakhla , Morocco
 Late last night she checked in from the Punta Cana Airport on her way to Brussels. Sam is sponsored by Star Kites and will be representing them in the Dakahla Kiteboarding World Cup March-18-2015.
The purse is $90,000
Freestyle: US$50.000
Wave: US$20.000
Big Air: US$20.000
This is the World Tour 2015 1st event and  will be held where the desert meets the sea,  Dakla, Morocco. The host venue will all start with the official wave and freestyle qualification event, March 18 – 22, followed by the Freestyle, Big Air and Wave official competition March 23 – 29.

The Freestyle, the Freestyle qualification event, and the Big Air competition will be held at the Dakhla Attitude Hotel Lagoon, known for its steady strong winds and flat water, which make it a pristine freestyle location. In addition Dakhla will offer the wave qualification and main event at the Foum Labouir wave spot, known for its long perfect right hand brake. The wave event, has the advantage that during this time of the year the probability of getting good waves and wind are extremely high. 2014 saw great conditions throughout the competition.

  Freestyle:

There will be two Qualifiers events during the 2015 season: one in Dahkla before the first event and another in Tarifa in the middle of the season.

2015 Freestyle ladder: 24 men and 12 women.
Pre-qualified riders: top 14 men and top 7 women (from 2014 Freestyle ranking for the first 2015 Freestyle events and from the current 2015 Freestyle ranking before the Tarifa event for the remaining 2015 events after the Tarifa Qualifiers).
Local event organizer’s wildcard: 2 men and 1 women.

For the 2015 Freestyle season, the new Injury Wildcard will be in place and is entitled to any rider ranked top 12 for men and top 6 for women at the time of their injury during 2014. The Technical Committee has to review and approve any Injury Wildcard given before the start of the 2015 season.
